During the next eight weeks, the Student Success Center will be taking a mini "informational road trip" with you. We recently asked the Red Caps, our Orientation Leaders, "What do you wish you had known before you came to campus"? These future newsletters will highlight the Red Caps' answers so that you can know all the tips and tricks earlier than they did! You and your parents/guardians will receive a newsletter that addresses a new topic throughout the summer. We hope the information can help answer a lot of your questions as you are preparing for your first year at the University of Hartford.

If you have attended an orientation session, we hope you found it to be informative and fun. For those of you who are attending orientation in August, we are looking forward to meeting you. If you have any questions while you are reading through these newsletters please feel free to contact the Student Success Center at SSC@Hartford.edu.

Enjoy your summer

Important Information

A great way to meet other new Freshmen at the very beginning of school is to sign up to participate in the following activities:

Early Adventure
Would you like to come to the University of Hartford a few days sooner than you planned?
Register now to spend three days and two nights in a picturesque, rustic location sleeping in cabins with 100 other first-year students. Activities during Early Adventure include canoeing, playing games, swimming, sitting around a campfire eating 'smores, and challenging yourself on a ropes course. This great experience begins August 29 through the 31st.

Day of Choices
At the beginning of each fall semester, the Student Success Center coordinates the Freshmen Day of Choices, which is a wonderful way for freshmen to meet their fellow classmates before classes get into full swing. Sign Up Online to register for a Yankees MLB baseball game, tubing, paint ball, Six Flags, STOMP in NYC and many other exciting events.

Important Reminders that you MUST do:

Alcohol.Edu - All incoming freshmen who will live on campus MUST complete Part 1 of the online program before August 31. Beginning July 18 you may access this program by logging on to college.alcoholedu.com. The login ID is C129525A then click Submit and continue with directions.

If you attended orientation sessions 1-4, we would like you to complete a short evaluation survey so that we can continue to improve our orientation program. The student link is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2V72LRC. We would greatly appreciate your feedback and suggestions!
