A combined B.S./O.D. program between the University of Harford and the New England College of Optometry (NECO) has been offered since 11/3/86.  The New England College of Optometry, located in Boston, is accredited by the NewEngland Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) and the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association (a member of the Council of Post-Secondary Accreditation).
