Psychology


Through courses offered by the Department of Psychology, you can probe many intriguing questions about human behavior, emotion, and the learning process. You will also have an opportunity to conduct exciting, cutting-edge research in such areas as organizational behavior childhood attachment, and health psychology.

Your B.A. degree can qualify you for entry-level positions in many human service settings. With this experience, you may decide to pursue advanced studies in behavioral or organizational research, clinical assessment and treatment, or school psychology. You may also put your psychology training into practice in fields such as personnel, management, training, marketing, education, and law professions.

Even if you decide to major in another area, you may want to consider adding an interesting psychological perspective to your studies. The study of psychology is especially compatible with such fields as communication, business, sociology, education, and art.

The Department major consists of a carefully selected core curriculum and a diverse range of more than 30 advanced topic courses. This structure allows you to both explore the many subspecialties of psychology and to concentrate in depth in the area that interests you most.
