Management

Today's management professionals emphasize teamwork, analyzing and solving managerial problems, and fostering an employee-friendly
environment. Management majors at the Barney School develop skills in decision-making, supervision, and human resources. The
objective of the management major is to prepare students to become leaders in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations of all
sizes.
Majors in this field take all of the core business courses, plus classes in communications, information systems, and ethics,
among others. A flexible choice of elective courses allows you to tailor your program to meet your individual career goals.
"I try to make my classes as interactive as possible. I reach out to each and every individual. I try to help people to engage
in self-inquiry, to understand more who they are as a person and what they want to become." --James Fairfield-Sonn,
Professor of Management
