Acoustics and Music (B.S.E.)

This nationally recognized program is offered in conjunction with The Hartt School. You'll focus on the application of modern technology to the fields of acoustics and music in such areas as architectural design, noise control, audio equipment design, or musical instrument design. Graduates have gone on to design rehearsal studios and concert halls, to improve the design of a musical instrument or piece of audio equipment, or to design a sound proof recording studio. Perhaps you may even work for an audio components company and mastermind the next generation of audio speakers. To be accepted into the Acoustics and Music program, students must meet the requirements of both School of Engineering and The Hartt School, including an audition.

"The best aspect of my program was the opportunity to integrate two related subjects in a unified curriculum. It offered me the chance to enhance many of my diverse interests."--Erik Porse, Class of 2002
