Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology

Do you want to combine your interest in biology and chemistry with the ever-growing field of technology? Technicians use sophisticated equipment to solve real-life health problems. They analyze information and use it to help diagnose, treat, and prevent illness. Personal interaction with patients is limited, but the impact these services have on a patient's well being is abundant.

The University of Hartford offers two programs in this field: a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology and, for students who already have a bachelor's degree, a Certificate in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.

If you decide to pursue a bachelor's degree in this field, you'll spend your first three years at the University of Hartford building a strong background in subjects like biochemistry, physiology, immunology, microbiology, and human anatomy. Your fourth year will be devoted to practical study in the field, in our own laboratories and at the Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

The University's Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Program is accredited by the
National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS); 8410 West Bryn Mawr Ave, Suite 670, Chicago, Illinois 6063; (773)714-8880
