Pre-Dental
This program is designed for students who are interested in a career as a general dental practitioner, treating patients in the
areas of prosthodontic, periodontic, and restorative dentistry. If you would like to provide family-oriented dental care for
patients of all ages, this is the place to start.
This program is offered in association with the fully accredited New York University College of Dentistry. After completing
your first three years of general education and science requirements here at the University of Hartford, and receiving an
acceptable score on the Dental Aptitude Test (DAT), you'll move on to NYU's College of Dentistry for your final four years.
There you will delve into studies in oral medicine and pathology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, periodontics, and clinical
practice. The combined program allows you to complete both the Bachelor of Science, and the Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)
degree in a seven-year period.
