Pre-Optometry

If you have your "sight set" as an optometrist-a physician specifically licensed to examine, diagnose, treat, and manage
conditions of the eye-you might want to "focus" on this program.
You'll satisfy your general education and science requirements during your first three years here at the University of Hartford.
After performing satisfactorily on the Optometry Admission Test (OAT), you can continue your studies at the New England College of
Optometry in Boston. There you will complete the advanced study and clinical practice needed to become eligible for licensing as a
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
