Bachelor of Science in Health Science

The University's Health Science degree program offers a flexible plan of study that meets the academic and career goals of students with varied interests in health
care and medicine. This curriculum allows students the opportunity to select, in addition to science core courses, an advanced concentration tailored to specific
interests.
Concentrations include:
Advanced Science and Medicine - offering options such as microbiology, genetics, pharmacology, immunology and organic chemistry;
Education - including course work in educational psychology, curriculum development, and individualized instruction;
Management and Administration - focusing on effectively managing organizations and human resources;
Computer Science - covering computer programming and data management;
Communication - helping students develop skills in interpersonal and organizational communication.
The Health Science Bachelor of Science degree program is ideal for students who:
- are interested in a more general understanding of health and medicine and wish to pursue graduate study in a related area.
- would like to pursue one of the many non-medical career paths related to health.
- know they are interested in health care but have not yet selected a specific health professional career path. Many of the
courses designated for a degree in Health Science parallel those required by the University's allied health professional programs.
Students who meet major grade point requirements may opt to transfer on a space available basis into one of these specific health
professional programs.
